Eligible Dependents
1. Your spouse (the person to whom you are legally married and who resides with you; or a person continuously living with you for at least 12 months in a role like that of a marriage partner.) Proof of residence is required for common-law spouses.
2. Dependent children (your children by birth, legal adoption or by court order while they are in your full custody and legally reside with and are dependent upon you; or children who do not reside with you but are your legal responsibility for the provision of health care; or step children who reside in your household (full-time or part-time).
3. If your child as defined above is age 21 or over, they may remain on your benefit plans until their 25th birthday if they are unmarried, normally reside at your address, and are a full-time student (taking at least four courses), or if they are officially recognized as disabled by a federal or provincial government agency
